I am looking to make this cake, but a smaller version for a wedding. So, it would be a mini cake, just for the bride and groom. Do you have any advice on how to go about doing this?

Have you tried subbing the milk with Buttermilk or do you think that is a safe swap? Not sure if it affects the leavening agents.
