Hi Karishma! You can use my vanilla cake recipe instead. The recipe is kid friendly as is though. You can use hot water instead of coffee!

Hi Olivia, I love trying out your recipes! I was wondering if I could make a vanilla base instead of chocolate and load that up with your SMB and ganache. Do you think that would work? I need to make this child friendly while keeping the classic Oreo profile flavour.
Thanks so much!

I made this at the request of my son. As someone who doesn’t prefer overly sweet or rich desserts, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this. I didn’t like it…….. I loved it. So good and perfectly balanced. The only change I made was to use RLB’s neoclassic buttercream using whole eggs in place of SMBC. Thank you for the recipe!

Hi Chelsea! The cakes should not sink in the middle. Unless you’re at high elevation? That would cause problems for sure.

Unfortunately had the same issues as the other people with it sinking. The toothpick came out clean, but the center just didn’t rise. I work in a bakery so I know I didn’t just under bake it.

Hi Sherry! I haven’t measured it myself either. Converting pan sizes is always tricky. Here are some sites I use as a guideline:
http://www.joyofbaking.com/PanSizes.html
https://www.cookipedia.co.uk/recipes_wiki/Cake_tin_conversion_charts

How deep is your 12×18″ pan? I think one full recipe should work if it’s 1″ tall, if you want taller and the pan is taller then try doubling the recipe. Make sure not to fill the pan more than half full as the batter doubles in size.

This is my go to chocolate cake recipe! Sooooo good!! Do you know how many cups of batter it makes? I’ve never measured it before. I need to make a 12×18 sheet cake (1/2 sheet cake).

This is the best Oreo cake I’ve ever made. My sister requested it for her birthday and it was a huge hit!
