Hi Kat! Doubling recipes is usually fine to do, even 3x is typically ok. It gets trickier when you do more than that though. 1.5x will be totally fine! Please let me know how you like it šŸ™‚

Hello. I’ve always heard that doubling, etc. recipes is recipe for disaster, when baking. I’d like to make this 8 inch, three high, which you recommend doing as 1.5x the recipe, but that makes me nervous. I’m afraid it won’t turn out

Have you tried this? Does it turn out the same?

I’m so excited to try this. Such a gorgeous cake, though doubtful mine will hold a candle to yours! But I’ll have fun trying. šŸ˜‰ I made an eggnog recipe years ago, and lost the recipe, and this one looks so much better.

Cheers!

Hi Susan! You mean in the recipe card? That only changes the ingredient amounts. If you’re scaling the recipe up you need to use larger pans or more of them.
