Good morning, this cake looks delicious and I have already ordered the rum Emulsion to use. I am wondering though if the shredded coconut can be omitted from the actual cake batter or if it is needed for structure? Thanks a bunch!

In reply to Amy. Hi Amy! The powder is a very fine texture. I don't think you'd get the same from grating it. You can give it a try though but the buttercream may not be as smooth.

I have a box of creamed coconut (in block form) and I’m wondering if I could grate it and sub that for the coconut powder. ???

I love this recipe and I’ve tried a few others as well. This cake came out great!
I also tried the older recipe to this cake you had. Is it possible to get that older recipe?
